Weil’s 2021 honorees and their respective practice categories are:
• David B. Gail, Corporate Law: Private Equity. As partner in Weil’s Private Equity practice, Gail advises both public companies and private equity sponsors in a wide variety of transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, restructurings, financings and dispositions. Gail also has advised clients on general corporate and commercial matters, including securities laws and corporate governance issues and other strategic considerations.
• Paul R. Genender, Business/Commercial Litigation. Genender, partner in the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice and leader of Weil’s Litigation practice in Dallas, represents plaintiffs, defendants, debtors and creditors in a wide range of business disputes, including antitrust, breach of contract, business fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair and deceptive trade practices, unfair competition, securities fraud, non-competes and restrictive covenants, and misappropriation and theft of trade secrets matters.
• Courtney S. Marcus, Banking & Finance. As co-managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office and a partner in the Banking & Finance practice, Marcus concentrates on representing private equity firms, public and private corporate borrowers, and financial investors with a wide variety of financing transactions, including leveraged acquisition and recapitalization transactions, bridge and mezzanine financing, cash flow and asset-based lending, debtor-in-possession financing and loan restructurings and workouts.
• Glenn D. West, Corporate Law: Private Equity. West, partner in the Firm’s Private Equity practice, has developed a diverse corporate practice both nationally and internationally, representing private equity firms in acquiring and making investments in public and private companies. West also represents public and private companies in acquisitions and financings and is regularly called upon to provide general corporate and crisis management advice to boards and their management.
