The State alleged a murder in the course of an armed robbery where the defendant was the shooter and the Defendant confessed to being a party.
The jury returned a verdict of not guilty after seven hours, making Ashkan Mehryari one of the youngest, if not the youngest attorney in Dallas to ever obtain a capital murder acquittal in Dallas County. The Defendant was only seventeen years old at the time of his arrest.
