SAN ANTONIO, TX—Judge Peter Sakai, 225th District Court and 2018-2019 Local Administrative Judge for the District Courts, is pleased to announce that Judge Ron Rangel, 379th District Court, has been elected as Local Administrative Judge for the District Courts for the term 2020-2021.
The Local Administrative Judge for the District Courts represents the district court judges in all matters including budget, local rules, and other initiatives before them. The statutory 2-year position is filled through election by the district court judges. In Bexar County, it is customary for the position to alternate leadership between the civil and criminal benches. Judge Rangel previously served in this same position in 2016-2017. His new term starts January 1, 2020.
