AUSTIN, TX—Kelley Drye & Warren LLP announced that Steven Robinson, former Chief of the Consumer Protection Division at the Texas Attorney General’s Office, has joined the firm as special counsel. Based in Austin and associated with the firm’s Houston office, Robinson’s addition further enhances the firm’s nationally recognized State Attorneys General practice and deepens its growing Texas footprint.
Robinson focuses his practice on state attorneys general investigations, enforcement defense, and consumer protection counseling. He helps clients navigate the full spectrum of state attorneys general matters, from defending investigations and litigation to proactive compliance counseling and strategic advocacy before attorneys general to advance clients’ policy objectives.
During his tenure at the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Robinson served as Chief of the Consumer Protection and Tax Litigation Divisions, handling complex, high stakes matters through trial and managing teams of attorneys. He also worked with the Texas Legislature on major consumer protection legislation, including Texas’ comprehensive privacy law. Through extensive multistate work involving nearly every jurisdiction in the country, Robinson has developed deep knowledge of state consumer protection laws and strong relationships with attorneys general offices and enforcement officials nationwide, with experience spanning privacy, drip pricing, and other emerging areas of state enforcement.
