Aronfeld Trial Lawyers’ Client Wins Jury Trial Against Carnival in Overservice of Alcohol Case
April 14, 2026
MIAMI, FL—Aronfeld Trial Lawyers has obtained a significant legal victory for its client, Diana Sanders, a nurse from Northern California, after a weeklong jury trial in Federal court against Carnival Cruise Line.
On January 5, 2024, Diana Sanders was a passenger aboard the Carnival Radiance that departed out of Los Angeles, California. During an approximately eight-hour period, she was over-served and consumed roughly 15 shots of tequila. Despite her visibly intoxicated condition, she continued to be served alcohol. As a result of this over-service, she became severely impaired, blacked out, and sustained damages by falling down the stairs.
Diana Sanders is a Registered Nurse in Northern California; she is a mother, a grandmother, and has two siblings. After a frustrating experience with the cruise line’s lack of transparency and conflicting information, Diana pursued legal action. Despite facing a corporate giant and two years of litigation, a Miami jury of eight women ruled in her favor after five days of deliberation.
The jury returned the following $300,000.00 verdict. Carnival was negligent- by virtue of its bartenders’ overserving alcohol to Plaintiff Diana Sanders- and that such negligence was a legal cause of physical injury and emotional damage.
