“All three of us played organized sports,” says founding partner Clyde Taylor III. “Doing your best and learning from each experience is part of what you learn playing organized sports. We’ve carried those lessons into how we run our practice.”

Waldrop’s roots are in criminal law—he began his legal career as a prosecutor and gravitated toward family law because it provided a meaningful way to advocate for clients in crisis. “I got into law because I’ve always wanted to help people. Family law, in particular, allows me to do that every single day,” he says.

Pribisco started his legal career in civil litigation, but eventually gravitated toward his true passion of criminal law. Inspired by courtroom dramas like Law & Order during his college years—and nudged toward the legal profession by supportive parents—Pribisco has found the real-life version even more rewarding. “I genuinely love what I do,” he says.

His father, Clyde Taylor Jr., founded the firm and spent his career championing underdogs and taking on unpopular causes. “He was a true trial lawyer,” Taylor says with admiration. “I always respected how he fought for the people who needed it most.” But while Taylor shares his father’s sense of justice, his own passion lies in appellate work—something his father admittedly never enjoyed.

“Appellate law is about precision and perspective,” Taylor explains. “It’s more about the long game, and I really connect with that.”

“Technology has changed everything,” Taylor says. “We used to insist on in-person meetings, but now we’ve realized how much can be done electronically. It’s been a big change, but a positive one.”

For Taylor’s appellate work, the shift has been especially welcome. “I can submit almost everything via email now,” he notes. “It saves clients time and money, and allows us to work more efficiently.”

Waldrop, who describes himself as “very much a yellow pad, old-school kind of guy,” admits that technology wasn’t always intuitive for him—but he saw the writing on the wall. “COVID really forced the legal profession to evolve,” he says. “We were a little ahead of the curve because we didn’t just adapt to the changes—we maximized them. We use technology as a tool to become better, more efficient lawyers.”

Pribisco agrees. “Our whole process is built to be both high-touch and high-tech,” he says. “We want to make things easier for clients, more accessible, and more immediate—while still delivering the personalized service we’ve always been known for.”

This blend of traditional values and modern tools has become a hallmark of the firm.
