Oxford Experience 2023

August 12-20, 2023, the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) will be leading a group of travelers to London and Oxford to gain a firsthand look at England’s judicial and higher-education systems. This eight-day tour is filled with immersive legal educational and cultural experiences, from lectures on the British Justice System at Merton College and the University of Oxford, to tours of Parliament and the Royal Courts of Justice. Other highlights include a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-on-Avon and visits to Middle Temple, Blenheim Castle, and Bletchley Park.

“The Oxford Experience trip is a continuation of the tremendous success we’ve had with our international travel program,” said LACBA CEO and Executive Director Stan Bissey. “Through our relationships with colleges and universities abroad, LACBA’s international trips provide travelers with memorable experiences that are second to none.” Last summer a LACBA tour traveled to Nuremberg, Germany, and Krakow, Poland, to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials.

Through a partnership with Merton College, LACBA is offering the Oxford Experience Travel Tour to its members and their guests. In addition to historical site visits and lectures, the eight-day program includes meetings with local judges and lawyers, as well as time at the Oxford Magistrates Court, The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Supreme Court, and Parliament. As with all of LACBA’s international travel programs, this tour provides guests with an opportunity to meet fellow colleagues who share a love for travel, the law, and adventurous learning.
