SAN JOSE, CA—Hopkins & Carley is pleased to announce that Shareholder Monique Jewett-Brewster, who chairs the firm’s Financial Institutions & Creditors Rights Practice Group, stepped into two new leadership roles at the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section’s Hybrid Spring Meeting, which took place April 27-29 in Seattle. Jewett-Brewster was elevated to a three-year role as chair of the ABA Commercial Finance Committee’s Loan Workouts Subcommittee on April 28 and inducted to the highly selective American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL) on April 29. In addition to these recognitions, Jewett-Brewster served as a panelist at the event.
Jewett-Brewster previously served as vice-chair of the Loan Workouts Subcommittee, whose members focus on issues relevant to lawyers representing financial institutions in single and multiple lender loan transactions in workout, restructuring, and remedy enforcement contexts. The Subcommittee considers current legal issues and trends of importance to lenders in loan restructuring, workout, enforcement, and insolvency proceedings.
