MIAMI, FL—Recently, the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA) named its newest officers. The below members will be officially installed into their positions on August 29, 2020 at the Mandarin Oriental Miami.
President – Jane Muir practices commercial litigation, contracts and general counsel, and is the incoming president of the Dade County Bar Association. Her diverse experience includes purchase, sale and management of businesses, and enforcing a variety of business contracts, prosecuting partnership and real estate disputes, defending intellectual property rights, and recovering assets. Muir served on the DCBA Executive Committee five times before she was elected treasurer, secretary, vice president and then president-elect. She has been recognized with several significant honors and awards, such as the Pro Bono Service Award for Innovative Projects by the Dade County Bar Association, and the Florida Bar’s 2015 Young Lawyers Division’s Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award. Muir earned her J.D. from the University of Miami and B.S. from the University of Florida. She is also an “AV Preeminent” rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
President Elect – Sabrina Puglisi is the owner of Puglisi Law and is the incoming president elect for the Dade County Bar Association. Puglisi is a Florida Board Certified Criminal Trial attorney with unique experience of having worked for both the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office and the Federal Defender’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Vice President – Eric Hockman is a partner at Weiss Serota Helman Cole & Bierman and the incoming vice president for the Dade County Bar Association. Hockman specializes in complex and technical litigation matters involving business, government, and individuals and is the firm’s Information Technology Partner, responsible for all of the firm’s practice management applications, data storage needs, and data security.
Secretary – Suzette Russomanno – Suzette Russomanno is an attorney at Hamilton Miller & Birthisel and the incoming secretary for the Dade County Bar Association. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation, complex tort litigation, construction defect litigation, and medical malpractice defense.
Treasurer – Charise Morgan-Joseph – Charise Morgan-Joseph is Staff Counsel for Zurich Insurance Company and the incoming treasurer for the Dade County Bar Association. She represents and protects the interest of the company’s insureds in all phases of litigation matters ranging from premise liability to coverage disputes, and property damage cases.
