Shutts & Bowen Announces Addition of Susan K. Spurgeon to its Tampa Office

TAMPA, FL—Shutts & Bowen, a full-service business law firm, is pleased to announce that Susan K. Spurgeon has joined as a partner in its Tampa office.

Spurgeon, who is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group, focuses her practice on real property litigation and environmental law, with an emphasis on title and boundary disputes, eminent domain, agricultural law, environmental permitting, cleanup and closure of contaminated sites and defending environmental enforcement actions.

She has more than 35 years of experience representing businesses and individuals from a wide range of industries in real property litigation, including disputes involving easements, right of access, quiet title, survey retracement, adverse possession, partition and ejectment. Her environmental experience includes representing clients in Superfund litigation, wetland impact permitting, dock permitting and riparian rights disputes and contamination cleanup and closure.

Spurgeon is a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, where she serves on its Executive Council and as Vice Chair of the Problems Study Committee, in addition to being a member of the Eminent Domain Committee.

She received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of St. Francis and her law degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.
