LEXINGTON, KY—Stites & Harbison, PLLC welcomes attorney Molly Blake Katen to the firm’s Lexington, Ky., office. She is Counsel to the firm in the Construction Service Group.
Katen’s practice focuses on construction law, counseling clients on matters through all stages of project development and execution, including planning, contract drafting and negotiation, and project administration. Having clerked extensively at three levels of Kentucky’s four-tier court system, Katen’s unique perspective and understanding of Kentucky law and procedure allows her to offer clients an informed and practical approach in assessing and resolving their cases.
Before joining Stites & Harbison, Katen was a staff attorney with the Kentucky Supreme Court, Justice Laurance B. VanMeter, 5th Supreme Court District in Lexington. She also served as a staff attorney for Justice VanMeter at the Kentucky Court of Appeals, 5th Appellate District, Division 1. Prior to that, she was a staff attorney for the Kentucky Public Service Commission in Frankfort and a staff attorney for the Fayette Circuit Court, Judge James D. Ishmael, Jr., Third Division.
Katen earned her J.D. from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law and her B.A. in French and International Economics from the University of Kentucky, summa cum laude.
